The trial continues in the case of a fight that resulted in the challenger’s death. Public Prosecutor Martien, S.H., presented a witness who witnessed the incident from the beginning until the challenger Taufik Hidayat fell, bleeding from his temple. The trial took place in Tangerang City, Banten, on Wednesday (January 7th).

Witness Erwinayudi, a transvestite who works at a salon, knew the victim and the defendant, who works as a tire repairman under the Jatake Bitung toll road. The incident occurred at 10 p.m. Wednesday, 2025.

The witness was in front of the shop when an altercation occurred between the defendant, Bintoni Tamba, and Hidayat, who both worked as tire repairmen and were from the same village, from Sumatra.

The second altercation was in Batak, according to the witness, who doesn’t understand either language. He didn’t know what was being said.

The incident occurred under the Bitung toll bridge. The transvestite claimed to be a real man, but called him “ibu.” Judge Basuki SH said:

Defendant Tamba approached witness Erwinayudi. Initially, they exchanged verbal blows. Tamba crossed the street and followed the victim, Taufik, but kept some distance.

Suddenly, the defendant and Taufik Hidayat took off their shirts and began punching each other. The frightened witness ran to Renggo for help.

After fighting for 15 minutes, the witness remained a lone spectator. When someone passed by, he stopped.

“When asked for help, he joined in watching. Taufik Hidayat fell to the ground, his temple bleeding,” the witness told the panel of judges.

Meanwhile, Bintoni Tamba simply ran away, who knows where.

“Because I was scared, I ran away too,” said the transvestite during the murder trial under the Bitung toll bridge.

Renggo arrived after Taufik Hidayat had collapsed, while the defendant simply left.

The defendant and the victim were friends from the same high school, Urai Erwinayudi.

Police witness Rudi Prastiyo was informed by the Curug Police Station, although he was assigned to the South Tangerang Police Department.

The incident occurred on Thursday, July 31st, at 2 a.m., when the South Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Unit deployed three teams to the scene.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and learned that Taifik had died.

Bintoni Tamba. On August 4th, the perpetrator was on Jalan Kopo, Purwakarta, West Java.
The witness initially received information that the perpetrator, Bintoni Tamba, was in Karawang. When they traced him, he was already in Purwakarta. When he was arrested, Bintoni Tamba was asking for help working at an unknown tire repair shop.

Bintoni Tamba and Taufik had a personal grudge over the unequal distribution of proceeds from stolen truck spare tires.

When he stole the tires and sold them for 1 million rupiah, Bintoni Tamba was only given 200,000 rupiah.

When Bintoni was about to be arrested, I called Mr. Bintoni Tamba. He came over and cried with regret, said the police witness.

Prosecutor Martien presented evidence: broken stones and the victim’s clothing, Taufik, as confirmed by police witnesses.

“The defendant was proactive when arrested. When called, the police arrested him,” Tamba said.

The defendant turned around, cried, and admitted to feeling regret.

The only reason he claimed to have stolen a spare tire from a truck was that it wasn’t evenly distributed. He hit the victim with a stone because he wouldn’t stop and started a fight until someone lost.

Witness Erwinayudi saw no object used to hit him. They both took off their clothes.

The prosecutor presented evidence: stone 1 was broken into three pieces, while the witness said there were many stones at the scene, but they were smaller than the ones used as evidence.

Bintoni Tamba did not object to the two witnesses.

The defendant’s attorney requested the presentation of wood as evidence.

The evidence presented by the prosecutor included clothing, flip-flops, and a broken asphalt stone. According to the defendant’s attorney, wood was also included in the indictment.

Defendant Bintoni Tamba is being charged under Article 338, said Hendry, SH, and Edwin, the defendant’s legal counsel.

The prosecutor’s indictment included wood and a sledgehammer. The victim, Taufik Hidayat, was carrying the wood and sledgehammer.

Tamba fled from there, frightened by the victim’s sledgehammer. He also carried Taufik’s sledgehammer, also carrying a wooden block on his back.

“The victim hit the defendant Bintoni Tamba first,” Hendry and Erwin stated outside the courtroom.

After removing the sledgehammer, the victim boasted, “You step over my dead body first.”

“The defendant Tamba was actually afraid of the victim, Taufik. He was annoyed by the constant challenge, and finally accepted Taufik’s sledgehammer challenge,” said the defendant’s legal counsel.
