The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested an official from the Tulung Agung Regency Government, East Java, after discovering cash.

The KPK successfully conducted a sting operation (OTT) on the Tulung Agung Regency Government official, along with evidence.

The arrest was conducted using an OTT (staging operation) to prevent the destruction of evidence.

Prior to the arrest, the KPK’s investigation was based on a report from the suspect.

The KPK’s report is still being kept confidential.

To ensure the suspect’s security, the report is still being submitted to the KPK.

According to information, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated a sum of cash during a sting operation (OTT) within the Tulungagung Regency Government, East Java.

Several social media outlets reported that the official from the Tulungagung Regency Government was arrested by the KPK.

“During this operation, the team also secured evidence, including cash,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement on Saturday (April 11).

However, the KPK has not yet disclosed the amount of money confiscated in this undercover operation. The sting operation, conducted on Friday (April 10, 2026), secured 18 people.

Thirteen of these people have been taken to Jakarta for further questioning.

Legal practitioners and activists urged the KPK to be professional in carrying out the sting operation.

The evidence must not be lost during further investigation after the sting operation.

“I hope the KPK will be able to gather the evidence until the suspect is handed over to the Corruption Court,” said Dr. Rahman Ardiansyah, M.H.
