The Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Tangerang City Metropolitan Police, has successfully uncovered a case of aggravated theft (curat) as defined in Article 477 of the Criminal Code.

Tangerang Police Chief, Commissioner Suyatno, S.H., M.H., explained that the case was uncovered based on a report from the public.

A Honda Beat motorcycle went missing in a rented house in Kelapa Indah Village, Tangerang District, Tangerang City, early Thursday (January 8, 2026).

“After receiving the report, we immediately ordered the Criminal Investigation Unit to conduct an intensive investigation, including a crime scene investigation and review of CCTV footage from the area,” said Commissioner Suyatno.

Based on the investigation, officers identified the perpetrators and pursued them, ultimately apprehending two suspects, identified as AF, alias Oji, and A, in the Karawaci area of ​​Tangerang City.

Police also recovered the victim’s motorcycle, which had previously been taken to the Jayanti area of ​​Tangerang Regency.

“The two perpetrators carried out their actions using a duplicated ignition key and a gate padlock.

We have now secured the perpetrators and the evidence for further investigation,” explained Police Commissioner Suyatno.

Meanwhile, Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Dr. Raden Muhammad Jauhari, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the Tangerang Police’s swift response to public reports.

“This success demonstrates the National Police’s commitment to providing a sense of security to the public.

We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any criminal activity immediately if they witness or experience it,” the Police Chief emphasized.

The Police Chief also reminded the public to utilize the free 110 National Police Call Center if they require police assistance.

Currently, the two suspects are being charged under Article 477 of the Criminal Code on aggravated theft and are undergoing further legal proceedings at the Tangerang Police.
