Pati Regent Sadewo was arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday, January 19, 2026. This controversial regent, known among his community, finally had to deal with the KPK for the second time.

Pati Regent Sadewo was previously questioned by the KPK after being investigated for corruption in a 3 billion rupiah mega railway project while serving as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

The alleged corruption case only reached the KPK because the money had already been returned.

“The money can be returned, but the law must be enforced,” said Supardji, a resident of Dukuhseti, Pati, who participated in the effort to oust Sadewo.

As quoted by Kompas.com, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested Regent Sadewo in a sting operation (OTT).

“It’s true, one of the people arrested in the sting operation in Pati was SDW,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, when confirmed on Monday (January 19, 2026).

So far, KPK investigators are still intensively questioning Sudewo.

However, Budi has not yet explained the case that ensnared Sudewo, leading to his arrest. As previously reported, the KPK conducted a sting operation in Pati Regency, Central Java.

The KPK has not yet explained further who is undergoing questioning.

However, he confirmed that investigators had arrested the parties involved in this undercover operation.

“We will update you later on the progress, including who has been detained and who is being questioned,” he said.

“We will also report on the sting operation in Pati Regency later. Regarding the sting operation in Pati, we will discuss the specifics of the case, the structure, and who were arrested,” he emphasized.
