Semi-narcotic drugs have been widely circulated in food stalls around Batuceper, Tangerang City, Banten, on Tuesday (January 20).

The police will continue to monitor and conduct surveillance in collaboration with the Health Department to follow up on the frequent incidents of violence and brawls between teenagers in Tangerang City over the past few months.

Two people were arrested at a coffee shop disguised as a base for selling Schedule G narcotics by the Batuceper Sector Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Tangerang City Metro Police, and Jakarta Metro Police.

The police successfully uncovered a case of the distribution of pharmaceutical products without a permit and failing to meet safety standards as stipulated in Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. Friday (January 16, 2026).

The case was uncovered on Wednesday evening, January 14, 2026, at approximately 9:20 PM WIB, at a coffee shop on Jl. Maulana Hasanudin, Poris Gaga Village, Kec. Batuceper, Tangerang City.

During the operation, the police’s criminal investigation unit arrested two suspects, identified as Anhar (38) and Mizwar (37). Both are strongly suspected of supplying large quantities of the Schedule G drug Tramadol.

Batuceper Police Chief, Commissioner Gunawan, explained that this disclosure was the result of further investigation into the previous suspects who had been arrested.

“This disclosure was the result of further investigation into the previous perpetrators.

Based on the suspects’ statements, officers then conducted an undercover drug order and successfully apprehended two suppliers, along with thousands of Tramadol tablets as evidence,” said Commissioner Gunawan.

From the suspects, police confiscated 2,160 Tramadol tablets, three mobile phones used for transactions,

Cash proceeds from the sales, and a motorcycle used for distributing the illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Dr. Raden Muhammad Jauhari, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si., emphasized that the distribution of hard drugs is illegal.

Hard drugs are a contributing factor to the rise in crime, especially among teenagers.

“The distribution of illegal drugs is very dangerous and can trigger disturbances to public order and security, including brawls and street crime.

The Tangerang City Metro Police are committed to taking firm action to protect the younger generation,” stated the Police Chief.

Currently, the two suspects and all evidence have been secured at the Batuceper Police Station for further investigation.

Investigators are still developing the network and coordinating with the Tangerang City Metro Police Narcotics Unit to identify other perpetrators involved.
