Police Foil Motorcycle Theft in Karawaci, Victim’s Motorcycle Recovered.

The Karawaci Police, Tangerang Metropolitan Police, have successfully uncovered a case of aggravated motorcycle theft (curanmor) in Karawaci District, Tangerang City.

The bust was made by the Karawaci Police Criminal Investigation Unit, led by Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Riono, S.H., M.H., and Operations Unit Head Ipda Abdul Kholid, S.H., during a ring patrol on Monday evening, January 5, 2026, at approximately 10:30 PM WIB.

Karawaci Police Chief, Commissioner Hadi Wiyono, S.IP., explained that the theft occurred in front of a herbal drink shop on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Karawaci Village, Karawaci District, Tangerang City.

“We received information from the public regarding a suspected motorcycle theft.

During a search of the location, the team, along with local residents, successfully apprehended two suspected perpetrators,” said Police Commissioner Hadi Wiyono.

The two suspects arrested, identified as DP, acted as the picker and S, acted as the jockey.

Police confiscated a black and red Honda Supra X motorcycle with license plate number B-6144-CWM from the suspects.

Based on initial investigation, the two perpetrators confessed to pushing the motorcycle while it was empty.

The proceeds of the crime were planned to be sold and the money divided up to cover daily expenses.

The perpetrators also admitted to having committed theft only once.

The two perpetrators, along with the evidence, were taken to the Karawaci Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings in accordance with applicable regulations.

Tangerang Metropolitan Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Pol. Dr. Raden Muhammad Jauhari, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the public’s active role in assisting the police in uncovering crimes within the jurisdiction of the Tangerang City Metropolitan Police.

“We urge the public to always be vigilant against crime, especially motor vehicle theft.

Ensure vehicles are double-locked and parked in a secure location.

If you witness or witness any crime, report it immediately to the police or call 110,” emphasized the Police Chief.

The Tangerang City Metropolitan Police affirmed their commitment to continuously increasing patrols and law enforcement to maintain public safety and order.
