The negligence of a multi-purpose vehicle (MBG) driver who collided with a married couple on a motorcycle in Pakuhaji, Tangerang Regency, Banten, drew public attention on Tuesday (January 27th).

A white Daihatsu Grand Max MBG was involved in a traffic accident. In addition to hitting the couple, the motorcycle also fell into a ditch.

The driver, identified as BG, is suspected of not having a driver’s license and was allegedly driving recklessly, resulting in the collision with the motorcyclist.

The incident occurred on Sepatan Main Road, Pakuhaji, precisely in Sarakan Village, Sepatan District, at 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

One of the victims, a husband and wife from Sarakan village, suffered injuries and required medical treatment,” Monday (January 26, 2026).

According to a witness at the scene, identified as UN, the MBG car traveling from the direction of PPG allegedly hit a passing Vixion motorcycle and a Yamaha NMAX motorcycle.

“The strong impact caused the motorcycle rider to fall into the Cikepuh River, while the vehicle sustained injuries and the motorcycle sustained damage to the front and rear,” he said.

Suheri, a police officer from the Traffic Unit and the Sepatan Police Chief, arrived at the scene. They then coordinated with Tanjung and Saiful, the B Police Resort Police, to assist in processing the crime scene and managing the temporarily disrupted traffic flow.

The motorcycle rider was immediately evacuated to the Pakuhaji Hospital for further treatment.

“The victim sustained injuries and has been taken to the hospital. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation,” said Suheri, a police officer at the scene.

Meanwhile, the MBG driver is reportedly safe and has been questioned by authorities.

As of this writing, police are still gathering statements from witnesses and awaiting further investigation results to determine the chronology and cause of the accident.

The police urge all road users to exercise caution and obey traffic laws to avoid similar accidents.
