The Jatiuwung Police, Tangerang City Metro Police, have successfully uncovered a case of aggravated theft (curanmor) committed repeatedly in dozens of locations in Jatiuwung, Tangerang City, Banten.

They also uncovered a crime of receiving motor vehicles.

In this case, police arrested three perpetrators along with several pieces of evidence. Monday (January 12, 2026).

Jatiuwung Police Chief, Commissioner Rabiin, S.H., explained that the perpetrators were arrested on Sunday morning (January 11, 2026) in the Curug area, Tangerang Regency.

Following an investigation and pursuit based on CCTV footage.

“This discovery began with patrols and monitoring of residents’ CCTV.

When the vehicle was observed moving, the team immediately gave chase and finally apprehended the perpetrators,” said Commissioner Rabiin.

From the investigation, the main perpetrator, identified as ZA, was known to have stolen two-wheeled vehicles using a T-key in Tangerang City and Tangerang Regency.

Several times. Meanwhile, two other perpetrators, DH and DN, acted as receivers who transported stolen vehicles, some of which they planned to take to Lampung.

“The perpetrators admitted to carrying out their actions repeatedly using the T-key method.

The other two perpetrators acted as receivers and transporters of the stolen motorcycles,” explained the Police Chief.

During the arrest, police secured evidence in the form of two Honda Beat motorcycles, T-keys and their keys.

Meanwhile, Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Dr. Raden Muhammad Jauhari, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si., praised the Jatiuwung Police’s performance in uncovering the motorcycle theft case that had been disturbing the public.

“This disclosure demonstrates the National Police’s commitment to eradicating street crime, particularly motor vehicle theft.

We urge the public to remain vigilant and report immediately if they witness or experience any crime,” the Police Chief emphasized.

The perpetrators are currently being charged under the new Criminal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, under Law No. 1 of 2023, namely Article 477 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 23 of the Criminal Code concerning repeated aggravated theft.

And Article 591 of the Criminal Code concerning receiving and transporting proceeds of crime. Investigators are still investigating to uncover other networks and perpetrators on the wanted list (DPO).

The Tangerang City Metro Police also reminded the public to utilize the National Police Call Center 110, which is free to access 24 hours a day, and expressed their gratitude to residents who installed CCTV cameras in their areas to help identify the perpetrators.
